Speaking of Izzy, he appears to be completed committed to Eden, continuing to try and visit her in Germany. When she was living with him, it wasn’t clear if his feelings were more as a protector than a lover. Is he in love with her?

Yes, he is. Poor man! I'm not sure she deserves him. She is far too selfish.

He's in love and for him, it's for keeps. I agree with Lauren, poor guy. Eden does not deserve him.

"She's pretty broken herself" is such a true statement about Eden. She never got to be a normal child or young adult. Her life was a mess through no fault of her own. At 18 she had to endure as best as she could. I don't blame her for running from the situation and Izzy. She's only 18.

I feel bad for both Izzy and Eden. He is in love with her and doesn't want to give up on that love. After losing the baby, Eden is a mess. As Anita pointed out, she has never had a normal childhood and doesn't see what she is putting Izzy through.

I also keep forgetting that she’s just 18 years old but has lived like she’s about 30. It’s a big age gap between her and Izzy who’s 31.
