Nistha | 2783 comments Read a book set between 1940 and 1970
For this one, does the whole book need to be set during this period? I am reading one set between the 1950 -1990s, guess that won't count right?

message 3: by Fiona (new)

Fiona | 3807 comments If more than 50% of the book is set before 1971, you're good. Otherwise I'd suggest going for another book.

Nistha | 2783 comments Can I use One Italian Summer for the set in a hotel task? During most of the book, the character resides in a hotel during vacation. It is more about travel though but the hotel individually also plays a role in the magical realism loop.

Fiona | 3807 comments Yes, you can!

Anna KR Thanks Nistha! I hadn't thought of using One Italian Summer for the hotel task :-)

Nistha | 2783 comments Haha, no worries, now on a mission to find a book based in Germany / Austria which would fit both my world tour and this challenge

Fiona | 3807 comments The Book Thief (my absolute favorite book) is what I can recommend here :)

This has been in my TBR for so long and I am actually torn between that and Slaughterhouse-Five

message 17: by Fiona (new)

Fiona | 3807 comments Oh that is on my TBR too! Can’t tell you how good that book is but if you do decide to go for it, let me know how you like it! Well, let me know for The Book Thief as well of course :)
