Seth | 786 comments I hadn't really realized it, but I think it's been 2-3 months since I read a book that I really felt compelled to get back to as much as I could. There's lots of sports to watch and games to play and all that, and books haven't won out for my free time for a while.

Ruth | 1778 comments It’s a great book. I really enjoyed the intersecting timelines with the humans on the generation ship and the spiders gradually evolving on the planet. Plus Kern is a fantastic character, a clever modern twist on the classic science fiction trope of the mad scientist.

Renee | 13 comments I tend to go in waves on my reading habits, and this book kept me interested too. The unfurling of planetside developments and the parallels to human civilization was the most fascinating part for me.

terpkristin | 4407 comments Oddly, for me, it kind of did the opposite. I couldn't get sucked into the audiobook and I wasn't interested in reading with my eyes (I have something else going on). So I've Lemmed it but I acknowledge it has potential to be un-Lemmed in the future. Maybe. :)

Calvey | 279 comments It has put me into a slump. I'm like meh. I think I may have to lem it and maybe try again later.

Seth | 786 comments Commiserations to those who aren't into it (not that I expected everyone to feel the same way I did). My slump was me doing fewer and fewer pages each day all the while thinking that if I could just finish the book I was on, or even decide to drop it, that I could move onto something else. Of course, that's develops into a Catch-22 of not getting into books because I'm not really reading - it stinks. Hopefully you guys find a book soon that will pull you back in.

If you're not feeling it, put it aside and try something completely different. Maybe you'll feel like coming back to it later, maybe you'll decide it's not for you. Either way, life's too short to be reading something you're not enjoying.
Personally I loved this book but it's definitely not for everyone!

Agreed. Sometimes I’ve read books at the wrong time and ended up hating something I would have loved if I’d read it when I was more in the mood. I generally have a better time when I book the book away and come back to it later.

But Children Of Time isn’t that book for me, because I am very much enjoying it. :)

Scott (smrathburn) | 48 comments I found this to be a page turner, every time I sat down with it it was 50+ pages

I'm feeling the same. It's not that the book is bad, and when I have listened to it, I haven't been bored. I just... don't feel a strong urge to go back to it when I've got other stuff I could listen to instead.

I wonder if there might be a correlation between how people respond to the book and what format they're reading it in...
