yay! I loved the book.

Just came out yesterday! Can’t wait to watch this one after having read it!

I read this book in 2014. Funny to watch a show where you loved the book, but can't remember everything about it. It was so well done. I read an article from Vanity Fair magazine and it pointed out differences from the book. To be discussed

I never got thru this one. I tried to listen to the audio on a trip to Maryland and just could not stay with it. I watched the first episode preview when it came out earlier this year and sadly I was not impressed. I do not enjoy movies that are filmed in total darkness and this first episode is. I hate squinting to try to see what the hell is going on. I will watch it - or at least start watching it - but if the whole thing is filmed in the dark like that I won't continue it. That truly takes the enjoyment out of it for me. So we will see....

Finished the series last night. I ended up being a bit disappointed. How often have we heard, "The book was so much better"? But for me it was definitely true. Mark Ruffalo's performance was especially uninspired, and the Nazi characters were the typical monsters. The book was so much more nuanced. Oh well.

I watched the preview episode about a month ago and I liked it, we'll see what I think after watching the full series. I LOVED the book, so I doubt the show can measure up.
