Is there any living poet capable of describing with majestic ability our generation? Or is just crumbles of a once beautiful art? Sometimes contemporary poets seem to me pale voices in comparison to those who "sang" verses in the past. I'm searching for new hope, so please do give me some suggestions and I'll read them with deep attention. Thank you in advance and have a nice day.
I often wonder the same thing. Contemporary poetry can feel lacking compared to the classics. However, there are still some incredible modern poets out there. Check out Mary Oliver, Ocean Vuong, and Warsan Shire. Their work might restore your faith in the beauty and power of today's poetry.
Thank you in advance and have a nice day.
