In the opening, a video is being made of Conal Thomas MacKenna recording his Last Will & Testament. Share your thoughts on this scene – the tone it sets and any premonitions it may have created. Did it ever cross your mind to question who was filming the video and the significance it would have later on?

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments Compton MacKenna is almost gleeful about what he is going to do to his nephews. They were indulged all their lives and had every privilege. This tape was going to be a very rude awakening for them. The way he was so condescending to Leah was terrible. At least she raised three decent, contributing women.

I had a premonition that this was going to unleash terrible consequences on Kate.

I did wonder who the videographer was and did note that there were no clues at all as to who that individual was. I did think that it would probably be significant later on.

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments You nailed it, Anita. Gleeful is the perfect description of Conal MacKenna's attitude toward his last will and testament. He knew that his nephews had big plans for that money and probably would have had the will read to them before he died if it was at all possible.

At the time of the taping, I wondered who was running the video equipment. I kind of shrugged it off and assumed it was someone who worked for MacKenna.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments It let us know up front that their was going to be a family feud as soon as it leaked that the will changed.

I thought it was one of his lawyers helping with the taping, but I knew it was important since it wasn't mentioned.

I also assumed it was a lawyer taping it and didn't give it much more thought. My mistake! lol
