Kate is attending an art show by a controversial artist, Cinnamon, at the home of her dear friend, Carl Bertolli. Kate is wearing a little black dress and a “wonder bra” (anyone remember those??) that’s so uncomfortable she slips into the bushes to remove it just in time to escape being killed by a massive explosion. It’s believed the bomb was meant to take out Cinnamon for her religious and political views. Did you suspect otherwise at this point in the story? Why or why not? Share your thoughts on the scene.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments I do remember the Wonderbra, but they were expensive, so I never owned one. I didn't think Cinnamon was the target - she wasn't even there! I did note that the basket bomb was next to Kate's display at the rear of the tent. It would have been assumed she would be working on her display.

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments Since the bomb basket was sitting next to Kate's display and Cinnamon had not yet made an appearance, I figured the bomb was meant for Kate.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments I remember and purchased a couple Wonderbras.

I knew the bomb wasn't for Cinnamon. She is a distraction and publicity whore.

I suspected the target was Kate, but I couldn't rule out Carl since he sponsored the event.

I, too, figured it was meant for Kate but thought the author did a great job with that whole scene. I love the humor the whole wonder bra brought to the otherwise heavy scene...bra hanging in tree, etc. Too funny.
