Det. Nate Hallinger arrives at the site of the first bombing and questions Kate. Share any thoughts and/or opinions you may have formed about Det. Nate and his role in this story. Did he set off any alarm bells for you?

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments I didn't find anything off about him at all. I did think he was going to hit on Kate, but she was a little out of it at the time. He really didn't like when Dylan showed up. I just thought Nate wanted to get to know Kate.

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments If I hadn't known that one of the Buchanan brothers was the hero of this book, I'd have thought Nate was the one who would fall for Kate. But I did know that this was Dylan's book. I thought maybe Nate was there to make Dylan jealous. Or, he could start dating one of Kate's sisters. There were no alarm bells for me.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments I agree, Robin. I thought that Nate was smitten with Kate. The bra in the tree was a cute conversation starter. I suspected a love triangle for a short time, but Kate was into Dylan. She would only use Nate to make Dylan jealous. I didn't hear any alarms. Nate seemed like a good cop.

I agree with you all! No alarm bells for me...I honestly thought he was a good guy who was trying to hit on Kate. However, later in the story my sixth sense began tinging and I did wonder if he could possibly be a villain.
