June 2023 Monthly Challenge – CONGRATULATIONS, GRADUATE!
Begins: 01June23 / Ends: 30June23

My youngest niece is graduating from the Univ of Chicago this month and joining the workforce next month. Congratulations, Bianca! She majored in Creative Writing / English, with aspirations to become a writer. But the job offer to join a major corporation’s marketing team was too good to turn down.

* Read a book where the first letter of each title word is found in: THE UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO. (3-word minimum; all words count)

* Read a book where the main character is a writer / journalist. (Tell us who)

* Read a book set primarily in Texas or Illinois. (BONUS point if set entirely in Dallas or Chicago.)

* Read a book where a speaking character is employed by an organization / company known by its initials: e.g. CIA, IBM (Tell us the character and company)

* Read a book by an author whose first and last initials are in: MARKETING. (Middle initials, if used, can be ignored. Initials may be used only so often as they appear in the target phrase.)

RULES OF THE CHALLENGE

All books used must be a minimum of 100 pages long - Page length determined by HARDCOVER 1st edition. If there is no Hardcover, then the most popular paperback governs page #.

You may read in any format - text, audio or e-book.

You MUST finish the book before you can claim credit for completing a task.

A book may be used for only one task, even if it would satisfy the challenge for multiple tasks.

EXAMPLE of a successful post:

If you'd like to be recognized as finishing, the challenge, please post a new comment alerting me to your finish. I do not get notifications when you edit your original post.

I just realized that I was missing a space between the 1st and second tasks. I've corrected the main thread now so each task is more clearly defined.

I think I've got everyone linked to this point. If I missed you, please let me know.

Heading out for a short family vacation ... our niece is graduating college. Anyway ... I'll be away from the computer for a few days, so probably won't update again until Monday.

This was a great set of books to read...although Karina wasn't really my type of book but I think it would be a good YA book, especially for younger girls. I always appreciate your prompts because I really have to look for things that match up. Even though everything is usually on my TBR list, sometimes I have to step outside my comfort zone and try something currently unknown to me. Thank you for the great job you do!!
