3) Choose your road trip MISHAP A: OUT OF GAS!

Out of gas! Pick a book from a series that’s not finished yet. This could be an old series that was never completed by the original author, or a new series that is in progress but not complete.

Here is the link for our Goodreads List, feel free to add your suggestions to it!

Kezia | 42 comments well, I was going to try and do all of the prompts, but I'm just not into series. And even going through the goodreads list, that was a whole lot of books I'll never read. I'll either have to get really creative and maybe pick a book by an author whose life was cut short (Sylvia Plath perhaps? or John Kennedy O'Toole? Maybe Ernest Hemingway?) therefore their life's works were left incomplete, or I'll just have to be satisfied with not completing all of the prompts. Tough decision....

I would go with your gut, read an author whose life was cut short...maybe do another posthumous book?

Edit Rasztik | 43 comments I read She Who Became the Sun by Shelley Parker-Chan

The second and final book will only come out in August so I don't count it as finished.

She Who Became the Sun (The Radiant Emperor, #1) by Shelley Parker-Chan

So glad you could see my vision. I'm going to read The Journals of Sylvia Plath by Sylvia Plath. Definitely an unfinished work...

Michele Olson | 517 comments A Blind Goddess by James R. Benn is number 8 of 18 in the Billy Boyle mystery series. Number 18 comes out in September of this year, so it's ongoing.

Shonna Froebel | 255 comments I read "This Poison Will Remain" by Fred Vargas, the 11th book in the Commissaire Adamsberg series. The 12th book is written, but not yet translated into English.
This book would also work for "includes a funeral," and "sends you down a rabbit hole.'

message 12: by Anna (new)

Anna (annafrommontana) | 414 comments I am reading Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency. It seems it was meant to have a few more books in the series before Adams died.

message 13: by Aquaria (new)

Aquaria | 286 comments Roseanna by Maj Sjöwall and Peter Wahlôô, first in the Martin Beck series.

Despite widespread critical acclaim for the series, it ended after ten books because Mr Wahlöö died of pancreatic cancer. He had the "crime" experience as a former cop beat reporter, so Ms Sjöwall didn't feel comfortable writing about that without her long-time romantic partner, not to mention how her grief over his death cast a pall over the series.

Instead, she became a renowned translator in her native country of Sweden.
