Cleaning Methods1) Look at a certain number of books on your To-Read shelf each day. Maybe 10? If you can't remember why you put a book on your TBR list and it doesn't sound particularly interesting now, remove it.
2) Read the first chapter of a book that is still on your TBR list that managed to survive Idea #1. If it doesn't capture your interest, delete it.
3) Are you brave enough to do this one? Sort your TBR list by 'Rating'. Remove any book that has an average rating under a certain number (perhaps 2.50?). The probability that the book is any good is low.
4) If the book is not available through your library, or you can't borrow it from a friend, and you aren't willing to spend money to buy it, delete it.
5) Go ahead and read any books, short stories or novellas under 100 pages. (This won't work for audio books. Their page numbers are misleading :)
6) Is there a possibility that you have duplicates on your TBR shelf? Remove them by going to your To-Read shelf, click on 'Batch Edit, and then click on the 'Find Duplicates' button.
7) Reorganize onto a new shelf that is more manageable to get read faster--a challenge shelf, library shelf, read next shelf.
