Today we held the first book meet-up of the school for good and evil, we read the first 5 chapters of the book (including the fifth one) here's some thoughts we had on the book so far :))
thoughts: We've liked the first few chapters and are waiting with hopes for the next ones. Some scenes could be better (we're all trying to forget about the Agatha incident) while other scenes we liked a lot. All of us didn't like the Beatrix nor the ever girls. (the ever girls deserve to be on the school for evil) And find the school's subjects funny.
Overall this session went well although we were distracted a lot while talking about it.
Here are some individual thoughts:
L: Has read the book AND watched the movie. Loves this book with their whole heart (is the reason we're reading it) a big simp for Tedros and her favourite characters are Agatha, Tedros, and Hort. (so far) Thinks Sophie is a beeeeeep for how she's treating Agatha so far. HOWEVER, she understands both sides of the story. She also understands how the town perceive both Agatha and Sophie regarding why one seems evil and the other good.
A: The only one who hasn't watched the movies so she's going in blind. Really finds Agatha cute. She's really curious of the headmaster, and how the school works. Thinks Tedros has good vibes so far. Unlike with Sophie who at first she thought she was going to be a character she could relate to but ended up thinking she's basically a beeeep. Favourite characters are Agatha and Dot. (so true, dot deserves better-L)
S: She's seen the movie (a traitor-L) She basically likes no one, specially Tedros. Doesn't really care about the headmaster instead she's most curious about what decides who's good and who's evil. A big hater of Tedros. She thinks Tedros is a pretentious boy, when he hasn't said anything yet, literally. She, not surprisingly, said that Hester (character that still hasn't done anything yet so half spoilers of the movie) is a relatable character because she's bad and has tried to choke Sophie. By the way, have I mentioned how she doesn't like Tedros? (I don't really think she likes Tedros guys-L) She's a Sophie and Hort shipper. Literally the only characters that she likes are the wolf guys of the school of evil.
Breaking this into two parts, but this is still S's thoughts. S thinks that Agatha and Sophie are able and will go back to the town, she mentioned Agatha getting back with Reaper, her cat. She literally read the 5 chapters like hours before the meeting, we love some good compromise.
predictions: We all think that Agatha and Tedros will end up together, specifically we think Tedros is gonna pull the card of "Agatha is not like other girls" Some think that the two fmcs (Female Main Characters) will struggle with the school work, but will rise up in the end. Others think that Agatha would do badly while Sophie would do good. And L has read the book so she won't comment on this.
next meet-up: We're going to read up to chapter 15, including said chapter, by next Thursday.
