Eloise is an outlier for me. She did profit from her gift in the past, but she does have insight into Kim. Maybe she knows the connection between twins and the survivor's guilt that Kim feels. That could lead her to tell Kim that Mikey is happy. I'm not sure about Eloise.
I actually think Eloise has a gift. That camel coat insight convinced me. She knew nothing about Penn other than him sharing his concern about the key with Kim.
Yeah, I had a moment, too, when Eloise told her she sees Mikey with her all the time. That was the most wonderful news she could give her. And, Kim was worried that her mother would somehow harass Mikey in death. This was just a deeply moving scene.

Here’s what Marson’s wrote at the end of the book:
“For as long as I can remember, I’ve been interested and intrigued by psychics, mediums, clairvoyants, spiritualists, sensitives. I’ve wondered if the gift is real or fake. I’ve questioned the emotional investment and trust of the people that use them. I’ve often thought about the harm they might or might not do if they’re not genuine, and it was this fascination that drove me to explore the subject further.
To pose these questions to Kim Stone while attempting to answer them for myself was an interesting idea, and I’m not sure either of us came out of it with a solid answer.
Ever since writing Lost Girls, I’ve been waiting for an opportunity to bring back Eloise, the kindly psychic who tried to help. The scenes with her and Kim are some of my favourite moments in the book.”

I don't see this at the end of my book. I'm going to download again. I like that she said neither came away with an answer. I didn't either, but I want to believe that Eloise helped Kim.
