Lindsey | 991 comments Welcome to the challenge! I read Lonely Castle in the Mirror this year and enjoyed it as well.

For #7 (Antagonist's point of view) I went with Freshwater. It's perhaps not a perfect fit, as the antagonist narrator(s) are within her own mind. They're given names, but are essentially her split personality/voices within her. It was a fantastic read!

Ooh I don't care if it doesn't fit the prompt, I'm still going to read it. It intrigued me a lot.

I checked if there was a movie made after I read the book and it came up on Netflix, believe me on this one but the book is better lol.

madrano | 23670 comments High praise, indeed, Reem.

When i am stumped on a prompt, i look to see what others have read for that one. It helps. Even if not the book for me, it sparks ideas.

Continued success!

Reem I read the Maya Angelou book and will use it for two of the prompts.
#29 & 72.

message 15: by madrano (new)

madrano | 23670 comments Reem, that book was my introduction to Maya Angelou. At that point i wasn’t aware she was a poet, i only knew her from her small role in the tv miniseries Roots! Based on Alex Hailey’s book of the same name.

I followed her career from that point onward. What an inspirational woman. I hope you enjoyed that twofer-prompt book.

message 16: by Reem (new)

Reem Deborah, it’s an intro for me as well. All I knew about her was that wonderful poem she wrote, Phenomenal Woman, it’s so good.
I didn’t know she acted, I should check that out!!!

I am not going to finish 100 prompts, because I don't care for at least 15 of them, but I'm very proud of myself 😌🫢

Lindsey | 991 comments Congrats Reem!! You have such a wide range of book genres represented here!

I, too, will likely not be completing all 100 prompts, but it's such a fun way to choose books that I'd likely never pick up otherwise. :)

Reem 83 prompts done & 17 to go!!
I am very excited and I wrote a little something about the prompts I filled since last time, then clicked the back button by mistake 😭😭😭.

Prompt numbers: 6-50-62-67-74-102-105 & switched 31.
Soft Place to Fall by B.A. Tortuga I Can't Make This Up Life Lessons by Kevin Hart Cherry Picked (Sunday Brothers, #3) by May Archer Doctor Who The Ruby's Curse by Alex Kingston Inferno by Dante Alighieri Power Plays & Straight A's (CU Hockey, #1) by Eden Finley Gardens & Ghosts (RELIC #5) by Maz Maddox

Book 1 was 'meh!'. Kevin Hart's was alright, I'm mad at myself for not going to his show when he came to my country💔!!!!! 3rd book is switched with the last one, cause I remembered there was a big plot about the environment. 4th doesn't only have travel in it, but TIME travel; Yep, proud of my choice with that prompt😂😂. Dante's Inferno was THE WORST, I HATED IT. 6th was also 'meh!'. 7th was my favorite❤️❤️❤️.

For 74, I read more books than last year, which was 238. Yep! this year, I am a Hermit with an eclectic taste!

Congratulations on that front, Reem!

I was tickled to see that Alex Kingston is writing novels about her Doctor Who character River Song! I've got to find the first & begin my own reading travels with her. Thanks for the title.

And, well done, on the healthy list of books read.

YES! River Song is my favorite and the book was really good. She did the audiobook herself as well, I recommend it 100% 😍😍😍.
And if you'd like, you can start with it, it's a stand alone book.

message 38: by Reem (new)

Reem Agatha Christie An Elusive Woman by Lucy Worsley
Third book to be used for two prompts, #47-101.
Mama got me into reading, by buying me Christie books from the library at her college❤️ Now, I finally know what happened the week AC went missing, though I don't buy it!

The Good Lie by A.R. Torre
#94 Legal profession - F/NF.
Supposed 'mystery thriller' about a criminal psychologist? even the author doesn't know! and a DA and a serial killer case. Do Not Recommend.

message 39: by Alias Reader (new)

Alias Reader (aliasreader) | 29385 comments Reem, I'm glad the Christie book was a winner for you. It' helped a bit to balance the other book which was 👎thumbs down.

My reading has sort of been the same.

message 40: by madrano (new)

madrano | 23670 comments Well done, Reem. I didn't know Lucy Worsley wrote a book about Christie. Interesting.

Thanks for keeping us updated. Continued success!
