Rest in Peace, Roger ... and happy reading!

I started out on Shelfari (which I miss!) with you all, and probably came across "Nighthawk" but it's been so long....
So glad he started the Paging All Bookworms group. May he rest in peace :)

I never really knew Nighthawk but several times when asking "newbie" type questions he was kind and helpful. I always thought of him as someone I'd like to know. Sending hugs and prayers to all of his family and friends.
You've both been doing a great job of carrying on his legacy.
Roger had spent the last 5 years fighting cancer. Unfortunately, on June 15, 2023, he lost that battle and died peacefully at his home surrounded by his loved ones.
I got to know Roger on a personal level. I consider him one of my friends. He was veracious reader who had catalogued every book he read since he was a child. He was incredibly loyal to his friends and family and would happily give you the shirt off his back, He spent the last 5 years going through chemo, surgeries, and MANY hospital stays so he could be around longer for his loved ones - especially his wife of 35 years, Laura (the met at a comic book store, how cute!), his only child, Colin, and his pride and joy - his grandson, Oliver. His loss has been felt by many. He is very much missed and many hearts break but we are also so happy he is no longer suffering.
Here is his obit if anyone would like to read more about Roger or would like to leave a note:
