In the July 2023 Read-a-thon thread, you will post your progress, telling everyone what you're reading and how many pages. Then all readers' totals will be tallied throughout the week to reach the goal of 10,000 pages.
This is a relaxed read-a-thon; it doesn't matter if you read 20 pages or 100, and it also doesn't matter if we reach our goal, it's just having fun doing what you would normally be doing anyway.
Once the July Read-a-thon thread is posted, make sure to put your name on the thread if you would like to be included. If you simply stumble onto the thread, then please, join in!
*An easy way to keep track is using the Currently Reading feature on Goodreads, entering your page number at the end of each day. **For those who read by eReader, take the page number which shows for paperback/hardcover here on Goodreads for your total. Calculate by percentage to work out your page number read.
***For audio listeners, check out how many pages the book has on Goodreads, then divide that number by how many CDs or hours it is to give you an idea of pages per time. Don't forget to post your totals of daily or full weekend tally on the thread.

I hated this book. It's great writing, but the dog dies and I try to avoid books like that. I don't know how this one got past my radar. :(

25%... The main character is not a good person... she was raised in a military cult and she's all in. She's better than everyone, rubs it in and is cruel about it. Good story, tho, and very interesting world building!
50%... Well. That took a turn. I didn't realize this was a time traveling story. I usually don't like those, because it's hard to do well. But I'm still enjoying this story!
100%... Nice! Good story, realistic and satisfying ending (tho a bit abrupt... a little bit more would have been better for closure).

10% I've had this book for a while. It looked super interesting, but I was never able to get past the intro. I got upset about killing wolves! Humans kill pretty much everybody and I think this book is just a good reminder that humans are evil.
45% Yeah. I'm always happy to learn new things about animals... very interesting about the Pythons in the Everglades, and Elephants don't like Honey Bees. And now I'm to the chapter about coyotes, and the ones on the eastern side of the US are not native there and have about 2% each of dog dna and wolf dna! So interesting! But! Also learning that humans have a million and one ways to kill animals is just depressing.
OTOH, when I don't like the book I'm reading... other things get done. Like chores. and other projects. That's nice. But I'd rather read something good! :)

I read across multiple genres and different types of books, from 25-page comics to 900 page fantasy epics. Re reading books in audio format while doing work. And giving basically every waking minute to some form of reading books. 135-140 is me pushing limits in a month because of the readathon numbers. But I'm still hoping to maintain 100-book monthly average.

Whatever works for you. What are you using? I’m having bother when I am using my iPad which is why I made sure to stick to my computer this month. It made a big difference.
I don’t know why I say I will total everyone’s posts on a Sunday. I never get the chance to do so. I will do it tomorrow on my lunch break.
