Susan A | 2091 comments Hi team!

Roger - president of NBR United - (roger_presidentofnbrunited) | 1591 comments Hi team I hope someone else can be captain/. I know Susan from another group. and am familiar by name with Kme_17 but don't think I know Amanda A.

I live in Milwaukee WI central timezone. I read mainly M/M books so hope this won't trouble Amanda A or Kme_17. I am very competitive and in the three round I played both type and have had two wins and one round I was on a first place team on one type and Second place team on the other by a matter of 5 minutes.

message 7: by Susan A (new)

Susan A | 2091 comments Oh hi Roger! I didn't relaize I "knew" any of my teammates.

I'm in EST and I also read mostly MM.

I played about 1/2 of a round before, not sure if it was speedy or regular. I was a fill in for a lost player.

I don't know what captain entails. If Amanda A or Kme_17 doesn't want to do it, I'll take it on.

Roger - president of NBR United - (roger_presidentofnbrunited) | 1591 comments captaining is easy as long as you have a decent computer. if you want to know more message jenne.

Amanda A | 685 comments Hi team! I am all for Susan being captain! :) The rolls are at midnight central time. I am EDT and rarely up at 1 am anymore. The last round was my first time playing both SS and SSS and I was on the winning team for SSS. Looking forward to this round!

message 16: by Susan A (new)

Susan A | 2091 comments I'll check with Jenne then about the captain duties and the team name.

Dice Roll: How is that usually handled? Does a specific team member roll, or just whoever is awake first at 12am CST?

I am in EST...I would say I am sometimes awake at 1 am, but mostly not, so usually I wouldn't be able to roll until about 7am EST.

message 17: by Kme_17 (new)

Kme_17 | 543 comments I am usually awake at that time if you want me to roll for us I can just let me know.

Just remember we can't roll until everyone has read and posted their books for the current roll. so try to get your book done and posted before the day of the next roll.

Fair Play (All's Fair, #2) by Josh Lanyon , All's Fair #2

Finished: 3/19/15 ★★★★

Review
Josh Lanyon writes good mysteries. The characters are interesting and never perfect. Tucker & Elliot have to work at their relationship, but are fully committed to doing so. Although this book came to a satisfying ending, there is clearly room for this series grow.

Roger - president of NBR United - (roger_presidentofnbrunited) | 1591 comments Week 1 Spot 2
A Serving of Love A Serving of Love (Of Love, #2) by Andrew Grey , of love #2
Finished 3/20 5 stars

Andrew grey is one of my go to authors I love his style and the sex is usually good. he is not afraid to deal with conterverial issues. and in this one the issue is protesting someone because they are gay. Sebastian, deals with an ex who is HIV+, and Robert is a newly elected Judge to be. Sebastian make a quick kiss at a sports zone activity place and a local editorial asks if Robert is gay and tries to stir up trouble to sell more papers. there are issue with outing/versus coming out and this is a nice complex romance and continue with the Café Belgie setting of the first of four in this series.

This was a great read. A very fast pace read. It has great characters. Was a very action filled book. I did not read the first book and was a little lost at first but picked it up quickly. Will definitely read the other books in this series and from the author.

All Roar and No Bite (Grayslake, #2) by Celia Kyle
Finished: 3/21/15
Rating:★★★★
I enjoyed this installment in the Grayslake series. The story was entertaining with plenty of action, sassy humor and strong characters who protect those they love. Van and Lauren both had to overcome past issues and learn to trust each other. The chemistry between them was fun to watch. I look forward to the next book in the series and more shifter books from this author.

Burning Up the Ice (International Men of Sports, #5) by T.A. Chase
Finished 3/22/15 ★★★

Review:

Pro hockey player rehabbing an injury at a small town ice rink finds he has a lot in common with the rink owner. This wasn't a bad story. There just wasn't enough to it. I expected some sort of conflict - -gay pro hockey player? Seems like there could be some trouble there. Living in different countries? Distance can be hard to deal with. Nothing. There was zero conflict in this book. So while I didn't hate it, or even dislike it, I wouldn't actively recommend it.

Susan A | 2091 comments Team --

Regarding this weekend Friday 3/28 afternoon through Sunday 3/30. My kids have a swim meet - morning, afternoon and maybe evening sessions. I will be mostly unavailable for posting things. Should be fine for reading - -lots of waiting (hours and hours of waiting in a bldg with spotty or no internet access). If they don't make finals, I should be good to make updates, but if they do, then I may not have time to do updates until Monday morning.

I am mostly a worrier -- odds are I'll have time to fit this in, but I don't want to leave you wondering.

Kme_17 -- are you okay with checking to see if reviews for Week 2 Roll 1 (Thursday) were posted and if they were, rolling on Sunday night? I'll be able to clean it all up on Monday morning at the latest and do the post your spot & reviews post.

Thanks

Review:
I really enjoyed this one. I loved all of the Rizzoli and Isles book I have read before and this one did not disappoint. I really like that it had a great mystery. This one started in Botswana and then came to Boston six years later at a crime scene. A great mystery and a very fun read.

Dreaming of You (The Gamblers, #2) by Lisa Kleypas
Finished: 3/24/15
Rating: ★★★★★
Lisa Kleypas is a master at writing historicals. Sara Fielding is an author looking to research London's gaming halls when she winds up at Derek Craven's gambling club. Derek has put up walls around himself due to a troubled past but Sara eventually finds a way to break them down. Derek and Sara are a perfect match and their love story was very passionate and sweet. It hooked me from the beginning and moved at a fast pace which made it hard to put my Kindle down. Definitely a must read for Lisa Kleypas fans.
