Jan | 773 comments Hello everyone

So? Are you enjoying any special food, drink or snack while reading this month's pick Planetfall? Anything inspired by the book? Was there any food or drink mentioned? This is the thread for all of those food and drink related musings we might have.

As for a cocktail I have failed to find anything related to the book, so I am proposing to you my current favorite summer cocktail (besides the Hugo, the Aperol Spritz or a cold grapefruit shandy)

Limoncello & Tonic
2 oz Limoncello
5 oz Tonic Water

Pour Limoncello into an ice filled glass and stir until ice cold, top with tonic water.

Tamahome | 7215 comments Calamari works, especially the tubes.

Seth | 786 comments I don't get the impression that food is something the main character thinks much about. She is fine with "printed" food while others decide to cook from ingredients. I think she mentions she can tell the difference when it comes to coffee - so maybe a coffee drink would be appropriate?

Jan | 773 comments Here's a Guardian article about 3D Printed Food from this year: https://www.theguardian.com/technolog...

And the coffee drink could be a Chocolate Espresso Martini:

1 oz Vodka
1/2 oz Coffee Liqueur (for example Tia Maria)
1/2 oz Chocolate Liqueur (De Kuyper Dutch Cacao)
1 oz fresh Espresso
Coffee Beans to garnish

Shake all liquid ingredients with lots of ice for at least 20 seconds - taste and add more liqueur if you like it sweeter - and strain into a Martini glass. Top with coffee beans.

If you have Chocolate Bitters, you can add a dash or two as well!

Ruth (tilltab) Ashworth | 2218 comments I feel like any sort of seeds would make for a complimentary snack.

Tamahome | 7215 comments Maybe we can print out some fruit strips.

John (john) (dowdykitchenman) | 166 comments All algae all the time for our heroine and the group, I think. Sadly, I finished my bottle of Harris Gin, infused with sugar kelp, a while ago.

Coconuts are seeds. Would you like a bag of them for your carry-on?
