holly (kenji’s version) | 15 comments *evil laughter* a character knew something the whole time...but the characters thought they didn't know...but the characters were actually doing exactly what the bad character wanted them to do.... *desperately trying not to spoil my book lol*

Dale Lehman (dalelehman) | 42 comments Hmmm...where to start...

Okay, here's one. In my humorous SF novel Space Operatic, opera company owner Roberto Maccarone takes his troupe out to the Oort Territories (on the outer fringes of the solar system). There he discovers a fabulous theater built by a famous architect. Nobody back in more normal parts of the solar system knows about this theater. Years back, the architect himself vanished without a trace. Now, here's this theater, arguably his magnum opus, and get this: it's never been used! The local Culture Minister, an angry and gloomy woman, has shuttered it and won't let anyone in.

There are actually a couple of twists hiding in this particular woodpile. I'll give you just one. The culture minister was in love with the architect. They intended to return to Earth together and get married. Until something dreadful happened...

(There. I've given away a twist and made you want to read the book! Bwa ha ha ha ha!)

Cari Legere (carithewriter) One of the biggest twists in my novella The Children's Home is that Lady Folman, the villainess, actually orchestrated the the events that caused Arwen (the MC) to become the tough-as-nails street kid she is now. She wanted Arwen to weaken, but it actually worked in Arwen's favor since she became stronger and braver because of her trauma
