Hi Austin! I understand where you are coming from, it's definitely monsoon in India and many other places.
But summer, technically isn't over. The seasons are defined as spring (March, April, May), summer (June, July, August), autumn (September, October, November) and winter (December, January, February). And even though it's Monsoon in some places, it might be summer in some.
Moreover, the theme selection wasn't based on seasons actually. Generally, we want to keep a theme, based on which books can be found easily in everyone's TBR.

Five Dares for coming of age
Bad Boys of Summer for summer
The Healing Summer for summer
For summer I'll suggest A Cuban Girl's Guide to Tea and Tomorrow
For coming-of-age maybe The Perks of Being a Wallflower (I've already read this but would reread) or The House on Mango Street

Our two themes for August:-
Theme 1: 🌞Summer Escapes🌻
Suggest a book that resembles the theme in some way. You can select books that take place in idyllic summer locations, such as beach towns, countryside retreats, or exotic destinations. And you can explore genres like contemporary fiction, travel memoirs, or even historical novels set during summer.
Theme 2: 📚Coming-of-Age Tales🌱
August often marks the end of summer and the start of a new school year, hence the theme.
Suggest a book that resembles the theme in some way. You can select books that explore the journeys and growth of young protagonists as they navigate the challenges and changes that come with adolescence, or explore YA/NA fiction delving into themes of self-discovery, identity, and the complexities of growing up.
You can nominate 2 books each for the above-listed themes.
Before nominating, take note of the following points:-
1. Please suggest only those books you'll be genuinely interested in reading in August. (view spoiler)[We have observed that books suggested by the members are the ones they have already read and if and when that book is chosen through a poll, those members do not participate in the discussion.
The idea of BOTM is to read and discuss books together in the group. (hide spoiler)]
2. Link the books you suggest and if you are using the app or can't link it, include the name of the author with the book name. Some books have duplicate titles.
3. We expect you to participate in the discussion if your suggested book is chosen for the month.
The BOTMs for August will be decided through a group poll according to the suggestions received here.
