What new books have you bought recently?

I got Dorothy Dunnett's The Unicorn Hunt and To Lie with Lions to complete my set of her House of Niccolò series, and a companion volume The Dorothy Dunnett Companion: Volume II by Elspeth Morrison for reference.

Just got back from Borders at Tropicana City, Damansara. Bought four fiction, conspiracy type novels. One reason because they had a pick 2 get 20% off deal and other reason is, well....just look at the covers:
All four (different authors, different publishers) have the same cover style. It's a picture of someone with his/her back to the reader, walking away. Yes, I bought four fiction novels because their covers amuse me. I'm such a sucker!

but last week my sister and i bought Gila- Gila magazine at Giant (Batu Caves) Rm1.50 each .....so that's my latest and today i'm going to BIG BAD SALE !!!
Gila-Gila is still around?? I collected that comic when it was, you know, funny and sarcastic, especially the articles and short stories. Then all the good writers left in the late '80s. That's when I dropped it.
Maybe I should change my nickname to 'hantu shopping' instead. All this warehouse sales, book and non-book alike are driving me nutss!!
Trainspotting
Crime
Sea of Poppies
Chronicle in Stone
Terrifying Tudors
Agamemnon's Daughter A Novella and Stories
Oliver Cromwell and His Warts
Disgusting Digestion
Microscopic Monsters
There's another 3 but I can't remember their titles. One of them I think was an Orange prize winner.
Each is 8 ringgit yer tuan tuan dan puan puan.

That Horrible Histories book is excellent. Get the entire collection! Very Euro-centric of course but still good for general knowledge.
As for me, yesterday bought the complete 10 volume Tafsir Ibn Kathir - Abridged from Daawah Corner Bookshop, Section 14, PJ.
Oh, Joy!!

you managed to get Horrible Histories didn't you ? I was walking arond and around and i can't find it anywhere !! maybe i wasn't looking at the right place ....
Deviki, I didn't go to the sale. It was Faizah who got the book. I merely commented on her purchasing the Horrible Histories book because I have most of it (but not from the sale) and I enjoyed the series.
I'm currently reading Terrifying Tudor. Asyik ketawa je ni.
They are in the children's section I think. Today is the last day and I heard that everything must go. So they'd probably go cheaper than RM8..

Ha, bestnya! I pun nak cari buku tu. Ustaz Zahazan keeps refering to this scholar in almost all of his ceramah.
My not-so-recent books:
1. Confession of an Economic Hitman
2. Rudra Avatara (kumpulan cerpen)
3. Kathakali (juga kumpulan cerpen)
Update:
4. Our iceberg is melting

Bunny, if you can come to PJ, Right Angle, section 14, you can get the series at Dawah Corner Bookstore (DCB). It's RM470.00 for the entire 10 volumes. The shop is a bit 'hidden'. If you can find a Bank Islam, then just follow that row of shops until you get to the end. That's where DCB is.
Bank Islam is opposite Masjid Tun Abdul Aziz better known as Masjid Bulat. I think DCB has a map of its location online.
Edited to add: It's priced at RM470 but I was only charged RM450. Discount, apparently.

5 hardcover books
15 trade paperbacks
2 harcover kiddie books
5 sheet music for piano
Total damage = RM120!!! (said the gleeful dietbuster!)

1. Wasiat Luqman Al Hakim (Ahmad Hassan Mohd. Nazam)
2. How We Can Save the Planet Preventing Global Climate Catastrophe (Mayer Hillman)

Sekarang sedang menguliti Love In A Torn Land.
Hehe.

Dua hari lepas saya melepaskan kerinduan dengan berkunjung ke Fajar Ilmu Baru (FIB) bersama isteri. Alhamdulilah, buku yang diidamkan berjaya dalam genggaman.
1. Misteri Shalat Subuh (Dr.Raghib As-Sirjani)
2. Spiritual Reading (Dr.Raghib As-Sirjani)
3. Sekali Peristiwa di Banten Selatan (Pramoedya A.Toer)
4. Jalan Raya Pos, Jalan Daendels (Pramoedya A.Toer)
5. Ibadah Sepenuh Hati (Amru Khalid)
6. Agar Hati Selembut Salju (Syaikhul Islam Ibnu Qadamah)
