I won't get to this book until about the end of the week or even weekend - same timeline for any Shark Week TV program, I'm afraid. But I can't wait to dive in. :)

Chapter 1, June is an investigative reporter and follows an anonymous tip to a warehouse. She is lured into the warehouse and a descent down a ladder…

Well, the writing is not great. This is in need of a good editor. Maybe the grammar police should also take a long, hard look…

Chapter 2, we are on the submarine to Trenchland, an underwater theme park… no idea how they got onto the submarine or how it was connected to that ladder. Presumably a moon pool of some sort. No security?

The most boring Megalodon ever in chapter 4. There is no real story telling here and the writing is clunky. Oh, yes, some people were executed, snore… 😏

Ok, wow, finished chapter 5. This is pretty crappy story telling. I am rolling my eyes so hard. I wonder if Amazon gives me my money back, if I return this ebook now? 😆

Oh, yes, summary… June shrugs off the Megalodon and the execution. What‘s the fuss, right? She finds the locker room, gets a disguise and decides to find a way out or maybe proof of what‘s going on in the theme park besides the prehistoric monsters.

Steve Alten called to ask if you miss him yet.

Fwiw, I kind of liked how it started out. Felt the suspense as June approached the secret theme park. With Jurassic Park you always had a chance of jumping a fence or swimming off the coast. But in a submarine or in an underwater theme park, there's an extra layer of menace because how are you going to escape?

I lacked a credible set-up. Where are they, how deep is it, how is the park constructed—it‘a a cupola out of what, how high, what about the water pressure?

Now that I've read the beginning, I agree, Russ, but I can also see where Cathy is coming from. I think I wanted it to be more than it turned out to be.
