Nominate books here for our non-King book for September. Please only nominate one book.. The King book has already been chosen so don't list a King book. Check the bookshelf to see if we've already read the book as a group. To do this go to the bookshelf and type in the name of the book you want to nominate and if we've read it the book will appear. Try to link your book so I'm able to make sure I post the right one.

Thanks

The Enemy by Charlie Higson

Description on Amazon:
When the sickness came, every parent, policeman, politician - every adult - fell ill. The lucky ones died. The others are crazed, confused and hungry.

Only children under 14 remain whole, and they're fighting to survive. Now there are rumours of a safe place to hide. And so a gang of children begin their quest across London, where all through the city - down alleyways, in deserted houses, underground - the grown-ups lie in wait. But can they make it there alive?

M. (elder_prince) | 78 comments If it's all right, I'd love to share a couple of Stephen King-themed suggestions I've come up with:

Timeloop : A Dark Time Travel Tale — Project Dechentreiter
This one is for all readers who dug stories like 'N', 'The Plant', and 'Jerusalem's Lot' or similar novellas. If you're into epistolary tales and those kind of vibes, this one's gonna hit the mark for you. Length: 30,000 words.

YogDeli I never really gave this short story much of a promotional push. I basically just wrote it and left it hanging without any announcement. So, guess what? You're in for a treat as potentially the very first reader! :D :D :D Now, I won't lie, the idea might come across as a bit quirky (but then again, a Lovecraftian-inspired tale is anything but ordinary, in my humble opinion). It actually struck me while I was out doing my DoorDash deliveries, of all things.

Now, let me sum up the plot for you: "Logan's life takes a sudden and unexpected turn when he meets a mysterious stranger at a bar who introduces him to a strange food delivery app. With this app, Logan gains entry to a sprawling and abandoned city, a sinister urban labyrinth where the only signs of life are the strange and anonymous customers who order food. Logan's journey into the unknown is a heart-pounding thrill ride filled with suspense and mystery at every turn."
Length: 10,000 words.

You can access them for free on the following platform, which means you can totally bypass the paid options over on Amazon: https://blossomsoft.itch.io/
