Around the World in 80 Books discussion

Hi everyone! I'm happy to find this group and I would like to know if anyone has read or would be willing to read this month, James Joyce Ulysses.

I tried reading / starting it on my own but admit it' s hard to get into! I really like James Joyce and have read some of his other works, but I would definitely like some fellow readers to join me with this so I can discuss and understand it better.

Hi Sheelie. I just joined the Around the World group today so am coming to this late in the year. If you are still interested in someone to read Ulysses with, I'd be happy to do so. I have had it on my TBR list for quite some time. It's been years since I've read Joyce, but love the Dubliners as well as Portrait of the Artist.

Hi I am so so sorry I didn't see this for some reason! my reply is sooo late please forgive me. have you read it already? i'm still needing to read this lol. let me know if you'd like to tackle Ulysses this month and it would be great to have a reading companionto motivate me!

Just getting back to this. I just checked and my library has one copy in stock so I've reserved it and will go pick it up in the next couple of days. Although I can try to finish it in a month, I read a bit slower than some and it may take me a bit longer, but let's give it a go. Let me know how much you'd like to cover by next week so we can share thoughts as we go.

I finally acquired Ulysses. How far in shall we go and by when as we make our way through? By the way, I'm writing to you from Hayward, California, USA. I've been on Goodreads since 2012 when Shelfari closed down and had been on that for a year or two.

Did your buddy reading go ahead? How did you find it?
