A bay and a chestnut feature in this book for YA readers and interested adult readers.

Another chestnut, which I think upon reading the book is actually chestnut roan, or strawberry roan as we call it here. The sire started out as chestnut and became progressively greyer, and the two-year-old colt is chestnut with a few white hairs.
