Vavita | 159 comments Those are the books for the challenge of the Specfic group
LOL!

message 4: by Cathy (new)

Cathy (cathepsut) | 567 comments Lol, I guess I could list some of those as well, but my October is already so full with buddy reads!

Susy (susysstories) | 2288 comments Oh, I see, lol

message 6: by Cathy (new)

Cathy (cathepsut) | 567 comments My October is looking more relaxed by now! I even started listing some stuff… 😝 https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

message 7: by Vavita (new)

Vavita | 159 comments Change of plans:
Former TBR is obsolete. I am not a person who can plan much in advance…
I am moving on with The Whispering Muse which I left unattended for a week.
Then, I am Starting with the 10th Fred Vargas: A Climate of Fear. This is a great series!
Stolen Tongues is a free audible so just something for in-between…

message 10: by Susy (new)

Susy (susysstories) | 2288 comments Sounds good Vavita! Happy readathon!

message 11: by Cathy (new)

Cathy (cathepsut) | 567 comments Have fun, Vavita! I have the first Fred Vargas on my shelf….

message 12: by Susy (new)

Susy (susysstories) | 2288 comments How did it go Vavita? Did you finish The Whispering Muse?

I think I need to start reading Fred Vargas.
How did you like Stolen Tongues?

message 13: by Vavita (new)

Vavita | 159 comments I didn’t finish. I went out to vote and fell on the street. My knee was bleeding a lot and I twisted my ankle again!
I came back home, had some pills, and just fell asleep. I was in so much pain! Still am…

message 14: by Cathy (new)

Cathy (cathepsut) | 567 comments Oh no, I am so sorry to read that, Vavita! I hope your knee is otherwise ok!

message 15: by Susy (new)

Susy (susysstories) | 2288 comments Oh no, I’m so sorry Vavita! Hope you’ll recover soon!

message 17: by Vicki Willis (new)

Vicki Willis | 510 comments Take care Vavita! Hope you are better soon.

message 18: by Vavita (new)

Vavita | 159 comments Not sure what I will read on next week's readathon. I am currently reading:
Desesperación - Stephen King
Pago sangriento - Elizabeth George
Maybe I will just try to finish one of those…

message 19: by Cathy (new)

Cathy (cathepsut) | 567 comments I will mostly just do mood reading and see what my library has to offer. Maybe something from the old TBR pile…

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) | 1435 comments Sounds fun, Vavita - I love Stephen King!

message 21: by Lamilla (new)

Lamilla | 818 comments At the end of a readathon i often find myself with several books just started, so finishing the one you are reading seems a very nice idea!

message 22: by Cynda (new)

Cynda | 1654 comments Mod
Vavita I have been working my way through some less horrific Stephen King by reading Different Seasons. So far very good novellas.

Oh! Different Seasons is wonderful! It made me cry a lot...
I have a sweet spot for murder, blood, and dismemberments so I am quite happy right now with Desperation. In general, I enjoy King's plots and character developments.

I just started with readathons last year. I am still trying to find the best way to navigate through them.

Good to know you and others will do an extra lap after official readathon. I will join in in the morning after my sleep study tonight. Something too good for my health to be put off. So good to know others will be here in morning.

Vavita | 159 comments Wrap Up April Readathon

Hours spent reading: 5

2 hours and 30 minutes of audio - Pago sangriento by Elizabeth George
33 % of ebook - The Warm Hands of Ghosts by Katherine Arden
49 pages of paperback - El Origen de Todos Los Males by Sofía Guadarrama Collado

Lessons Learned
Impossible to do this with family at home. Go away or send them away!
It is not enough to plan everything. Write it down or you will forget anyway!

message 34: by Lamilla (new)

Lamilla | 818 comments Beautiful Lessons Learned, Vavita!

See you next readathon

message 35: by Cynda (new)

Looks like a great readathon, Vavita!
I'm doing this for years and I still have my lessons learned lol

Cathy (cathepsut) | 567 comments Vavita wrote: "Go away or send them away!"

So, next time we rent a cabin as well? Somewhere in the middle between us? 😏

How did you like the Arden?

message 38: by Vavita (new)

Vavita | 159 comments I am not crazy about The Warm Hands… it is not bad but it is just too simple so far. There is not much going on…

message 39: by Susy (new)

Susy (susysstories) | 2288 comments Yes! I think you should rent a cabin as well! Can definitely recommend it!

message 40: by Vicki Willis (new)

Vicki Willis | 510 comments I agree about having the family around. They just don't get it if they are not readers.
Hope to see you in July at the next one.

message 41: by Susan (new)

Susan | 678 comments I understand the family interruptions! It's taken years, but they now know to leave me alone for 24 hours. Regardless, you probably got more reading time than usual. Hope to see you next time!

Vavita the salmon and Ritz crackers sounds like snackish goodness. I was thinking of same (with cream cheese too), but decided on something else. Maybe I will decide on salmon and crackers for another RAD. Enjoy!

message 49: by Vavita (last edited Jul 26, 2024 08:12PM) (new)

message 50: by Vavita (new)

Vavita | 159 comments I manage to read the first four hours:

2 hours of audio and 1 and a half of kindle. I finished the audio.

Then I fell asleep… now I have to do grocery shopping while starting another audio.
