Ah, good one Cait! I searched how to adjust it to the challenge this morning and had a hard time.

message 6: by Cait (new)

Cait (clickcait) | 480 comments It was your 'Ink your world in 52 weeks' that inspired me, hehe.

message 7: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Around the year in 52 books.......I like it!

message 8: by Sophie (new)

Sophie (sawphie) I really like it to!

message 9: by Cybersekkin (new)

Cybersekkin | 25 comments I like ink your world, but suspect a large number of ebook users. Expanding your world one book at a time. 52 weeks of wonderful words. Readers wanted, apply here. Expand your mind one book(page) at a time. The world on a printing plate. Expanding and shrinking the world at the same time. on the shoulders of giants.

message 10: by Sophie (new)

Sophie (sawphie) I like The world on a printing plate!

Zaz | 1387 comments Mod
It's funny to associate "ink" with ebooks, for me ink is more related to paper (but works too with some ereaders). Anyway, I'm mostly an ebook user, no problem with more like me :p

I like the giants one but maybe people will be afraid the group reads only doorstop books and it won't be very efficient in a group search.
Thanks for all the ideas :)

I'll update the 1st post with the suggestions.

message 12: by Ella (new)

Ella | 234 comments I like:

Around the year in 52 books
52 weeks of wonderful words

message 13: by Raeann (new)

Raeann (broadwaypants) How about "52 books in 52 weeks"? Right to the point. :) It could even be shortened to "52 in 52".

message 14: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michelleae) Bizarrely the group name is appearing in my groups as 2015 fishing challenge! Happening to anyone else?

Yup. I'm guessing it's April Fools :)

message 16: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michelleae) Aaaah of course

(Paper fishes sticked with adhesive tape on the back of people are the traditional April Fool for french kids)

Brittany (tinsel hoarding bookdragon) (gamerkiti) so i love the "around the year in 52 books" and my twist for that would have to be

through the library in 52 topics"

.•*¨`*•✿ ✿•*¨`*•. Christine .•*¨`*•✿ ✿•*¨`*• Zaz wrote: "(Paper fishes sticked with adhesive tape on the back of people are the traditional April Fool for french kids)"

I didn't know that Zaz. It is so cool to learn about other traditions.

message 20: by Zaz, Mood Minion (new)

Zaz | 1387 comments Mod
I agree Christine. French traditions are usually a little weird and different (we don't have a tooth fairy, we have "the little mouse"...) so it was really fun for me to discover the english ones.

2 last suggestions added in the 1st post.

Great fun!

message 22: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Barstad (maidenoflight) Bookaholics anonymous

message 23: by Cybersekkin (new)

Cybersekkin | 25 comments Jennifer wrote: "Bookaholics anonymous"

would that be the 52 steps to recovery? or 52 steps to a deeper addiction?

message 24: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Barstad (maidenoflight) haha, depends on the person i guess, lol.

message 25: by Jody (new)

Jody (jodybell) | 531 comments I like the idea of that Cybersekkin! A 52-Step Program ... but you're right I don't think any of us want to recover!

message 26: by Peter (new)

Peter My suggestion for a group name would be:

Annual 52 Book Reading Challenge

Simple and straightforward.

I'm not sure if people will like this suggestion, but I like practical and efficient over anything else. No offense meant to anyone at all, I just feel like a lot of the names suggested are more of a slogan or tagline than a name for the group...

message 27: by Anastasia (new)

Anastasia (anastasiaharris) | 319 comments Peter I agree. There would be no need to change the group name from year to year either.

message 28: by Erica (new)

Erica | 214 comments I agree with Peter's suggestion too. Plus it's easy to find for new members searching. Nice and straightforward.

message 29: by Grace Meredith (new)

Grace Meredith (koreantrash) I have a few! They could just be slogans, or whatever.

ASSOCIATED WITH BOOKS:

Wuthering Words

All The Bright Readers

All The Books We Can Read

ASSOCIATED WITH CHALLENGE:

52 Weeks, 52 Books
Many more words, many more looks!

2016 Readers and Eaters

Challenge Time

message 30: by Jody (new)

Jody (jodybell) | 531 comments I like 52 Weeks, 52 Books.

message 31: by Zaz, Mood Minion (new)

Zaz | 1387 comments Mod
Names like "52 books, 52 weeks", "52 books in 52 weeks" are already used on Goodreads (I just checked). Before the poll, we'll have to verify there's no groups with the suggested names.

message 32: by Kaye (new)

Kaye Wyly | 20 comments How about 2016 Reading Challenge? Could be I am not very creative...

message 33: by Marina (new)

Marina | 272 comments I think the name should simple and straight-forward, a name that clearly indicate what the idea behind the group is.

Since "52 weeks, 52 books" is already taken, I like "Around the year in 52 books" or maybe "52 books in 1 year".

message 34: by Laura, Mod (new)

Laura | 599 comments Mod
I really like Around the year in 52 books (and some of the others) but I'm wondering if it would be found by more people if the word "challenge" is in the title? So many creative suggestions though!

message 35: by Marina (new)

Marina | 272 comments Laura wrote: "I really like Around the year in 52 books (and some of the others) but I'm wondering if it would be found by more people if the word "challenge" is in the title? So many creative suggestions though!"

Good point... I think it would draw more attention with the word "challenge".

What about "Challenge the year with 52 books" or "Challenge the year in 52 weeks"?

message 36: by Zaz, Mood Minion (new)

Zaz | 1387 comments Mod
If you try the keyword "challenge" in the group search, you'll see lots of groups without it in their names, but I suppose they put it in the description or have some folders with it.
We can have a more original group name, to avoid the "already used" and a straight-forward description, so people will know what it is about.

message 37: by Laura, Mod (new)

Laura | 599 comments Mod
Oh ok, I didn't realize good reads was advanced enough to search beyond just the name. That's good though :)

message 38: by Cybersekkin (new)

Cybersekkin | 25 comments 52 book week challenge?

message 39: by Peter (new)

Peter I still like "Annual 52 Book Reading Challenge".

It's simple and tells you exactly what it is without being ambiguous or wordy.

message 40: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Barstad (maidenoflight) When do we vote for the group name?

message 41: by Chelsea (new)

Chelsea | 2 comments I like "Around the Year in 52 Books"

message 42: by Zaz, Mood Minion (new)

Zaz | 1387 comments Mod
Jennifer > I think in September or October as we have people joining us this summer and maybe they'll want to continue with the group too next year :)

message 43: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Barstad (maidenoflight) Ok. I was just wondering. Hopefully we'll get a lot of people to stay with us.

Hi there, the poll is opened:
https://www.goodreads.com/poll/show/1...

The mods checked all the suggestions to remove the ones already taken or too much similar to other groups.

You can start by voting the name you prefer and I'll do a reminder just before the end so you could change to one of the most voted names if your choice didn't make it.

Zaz | 1387 comments Mod
End of the poll, the 2016 group has a name!
The winner is Around the year in 52 books :)
