Welcome to our discussion of To Serve Them All My Days. More details soon.

Linda | 1425 comments I received my library book this weekend - it is indeed a chunkster! I'm looking forward to this read. :)

Bron (bron23) | 50 comments I haven't joined in a group read for a while, but I am going to read along with this one. I often fall off the schedule halfway through, but I'll see how I go. I've got a copy of the book sorted and I'm ready to roll.

Alexa Freeman | 21 comments Somehow I've fallen off the email list. I'll check. I'm about ¾ of the way through and realized I hadn't read a single comment so came here directly through the website and lo and behold!

Sorry - my fault - I should have been organising this but have been too distracted by other groups and the Booker list. I expect to have time to get things moving tomorrow evening or Thursday.

Alexa Freeman | 21 comments No need to apologize and no rush! I'm just relieved I haven't missed any discussion.

Brian E Reynolds | 148 comments That's OK Hugh. When nothing further came about the schedule I did worry and checked your page to see if you were still posting in other threads and was relieved to find that you were posting and that you hadn't died. So its just good to hear from you.
From previous years' discussions on the Reading the 20th Century Group I knew that you faithfully read all entries on the Booker Shortlist and got heavily involved in on-line chit-chat on those books so I hoped you were just preoccupied in reading and chatting about Booker books and hadn't completely abandoned us Chunkster waifs .

Nidhi Kumari Your comment made my day Brian (night actually), I laughed for full 5 minutes, that is something precious for me.
I am commenting to declare that I am also alive and keen to start the book, actually I was thinking of proposing a buddy read of a contemporary book..... the group will become more active.

ha ha! I'm laughing too. Glad Hugh is alive and kicking. :D

I still have my library book, but I also still haven't read the book intended to be done before I started this one. I still want to read this, though, but I don't know how it's going to go.

I have posted the schedule, assuming we are happy to start next week. I am not promising to read this one.

message 11: by Linda (new)

Linda | 1425 comments I'm sorry I was not able to read this along with the group like I had hoped. I had the library book waiting in the wings, but I was unable to get my previously scheduled books read first, and then I finally had to return my book. I'm still interested in this, though, so I'm thinking I will try finding myself a used copy for purchase so I can hopefully get around to reading it at some point.

I want to read it too, Linda, but the timing near the end of the year wasn't good for me. Too many other books I need to finish by the end of the year.
