St. Mary's, an historical research center, is an off-shoot of a prestigious college in England. The way they do their research, in an effort to be perfectly accurate, is to visit that time period. They claim they don't do time travel but yes, that's how I would label it. They have pods that take them to different eras and, before they go, they dress in period clothing. Once there, they cannot change anything, just observe collect the data and get back home. They also cannot remove anything from the time period or "history" will not let them come back! If they spend a week in that time period, when they return, it's a much shorter time.

This is the first in a series and I'd like to read more. I also think this would be an excellent TV series. Maybe Netflix or Prime should grab it up. I'm not at all sure that I haven't heard of something similar. The characters are great, and I can just about picture them from Taylor's descriptions. There's lots of humor, some romance, and action. Very enjoyable.

I have read eight books of this series. Although I have wondered about this as a series, I wonder what the cost would be in producing this with the props necessary for each of the times.
