WndyJW Booker eligible books inexplicably excluded from the longlist.

WndyJW Without consulting GY, I have listed this group of books he has selected for the inaugural Barker Prize, which seems like a good prize for this group since every year there are books we are surprised and disappointed were not longlisted for the Booker.
If you want me to delete this I will, GY, but it was on social media so I assumed it was public information.

I have read 4 of the above and ordered For Thy Great Pain…which I was excited to see is about Julian of Norwich and Margery Kempe.
I’m holding off on Soldier, Sailor as I’m not keen to read yet another book about motherhood.

Kathleen | 151 comments These are books I chose to wait and read when they are on the Booker longlist!! That was a reasonable decision at the time. Now I wish I hadn’t waited. I still hope to get to them.

WndyJW Now you have a good reason, Kathleen!

These are books that we expected to winalot so it was surprising they weren't Booker listed

WndyJW I see what you two did there. Clever.

I don’t know how I missed hearing about For thy Great Pains… I love stories of women talking to each other and I’m curious about The Book of Margery Kempe.
