Of all the things that have happened, the overtones of consent are beautiful. I love the comparison of how giving consent when you know what the price is (Red and the Wilderwood taking root in her) versus giving consent from a place of desperation and fear (Arick and the Shadowlands). Plus we finally get a better understanding of what Kiri is up to!!

I have to admit, once I got past chapter 11, I had a hard time putting the book down!

I stopped reading this book over a year ago. not sure why either. but I stopped at chapter 28.... I'm so close, but my brain said stop so long ago.

Kristy are you having trouble finishing it this time, too?

Red is very much like the character I would want to write. I love the idea of the roots being part of her. I didn’t think the love story was developed enough, but I liked it enough to read the next in the series.
