Erica (storybookend) | 18 comments What do you think some good ideas for future books would be? I'm thinking Hercules, Swan Princess, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, Robin Hood, Aladdin. Think these would make good once upon a time books, or not? Or do these not even fit the criteria?

message 2: by Bianca (new)

Bianca (dizzybee) I think it would be cool to have a peter pand and Robin hood one!! They would all be fun to read as books and I think they fit the criteria!!!

You can add magic into any story.
Those sound like great ideas Erica! I wonder how many more there will be...

Erica (storybookend) | 18 comments I think they could go on forever. There's so many possibilites.

thats true. xD

message 7: by Emily (new)

Emily Eastman | 20 comments I really think they should make a retelling of Thumbellina (sorry if the name is spelled wrong) (=

Erica (storybookend) | 18 comments That would be a really cute story! I love thumbelina.

message 9: by Bianca (new)

Bianca (dizzybee) yeah it would be fun to see how they would do it

message 10: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 4 comments Absolutely, that would be awesome!! I never thought of that... What other fairytales have they not done yet, I can't think of any!

Erica (storybookend) | 18 comments Hansel and Gretal?

message 12: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 4 comments Ah ha! I didn't even think about that!! (Wow I'm really bad at this...) ;P

Naomi (catfanatic) | 224 comments Mod
wow. there are a million possibilities!

message 14: by Klehmenteen (new)

Klehmenteen (kanni) | 4 comments I feel like they should do a retelling of the Little Matchstick Girl, but end it happily. It used to be my favorite fairytale, except I always cried at the end.

And they could make like...fifteen different versions of each story and it'd be new and different every time.

Isn't there a Mulan story, too?

Erica (storybookend) | 18 comments Wild Orchid is the Mulan story. And the Little Matchstick Girl would be cute, except it is really sad.

Naomi (catfanatic) | 224 comments Mod
whats little matchstick girl about?

message 17: by Klehmenteen (new)

Klehmenteen (kanni) | 4 comments The Little Matchstick Girl is basically about a homeless girl on New Year's Eve who has to sell matches or her dad will beat her, and she ends iup lighting them herself and hallucinating, and then she runs out and freezes to death...It's cute...

message 18: by Rachel (last edited Dec 22, 2009 01:40PM) (new)

Rachel | 4 comments It's about a little girl who's extremely poor and after a series of events she eventually freezes to death... (Sorry if I completely give away the story) There are more details that explain the in between parts. It's kind of morbid but is a cute heartfelt read. If they could find a way to make it "Once Upon a Time" material I'd love it! :)

message 19: by Emily (new)

Emily Eastman | 20 comments That sounds like it would be a good Once Upon a Time book if they maybe changed the ending up a little.

message 20: by Bianca (new)

Bianca (dizzybee) yeah it sounds sweet

message 21: by Emily (new)

Emily Eastman | 20 comments They should do Aladdin if they can figure out a way to make Aladdin a girl and not ruin the whole story.

Erica (storybookend) | 18 comments That'd be cool.

message 23: by Naomi (new)

Naomi (catfanatic) | 224 comments Mod
That would be. If I knew any of the authors I'd recomend it. but unfortunately I don't know any of them. D;

message 24: by Klehmenteen (new)

Klehmenteen (kanni) | 4 comments Aladdin would be soooo easy! They should totally do it...

message 25: by Bianca (new)

Bianca (dizzybee) I think it would be fun to hear

message 26: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 9 comments I think they should Write a Poccahontis one.

message 27: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 9 comments Sorry about the spelling

message 28: by Emily (new)

Emily Eastman | 20 comments Yeah they should. I love the movie for that.

message 29: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Emily wrote: "They should do Aladdin if they can figure out a way to make Aladdin a girl and not ruin the whole story."

Aladdin would be very cool! It would be tricky to change the gender of many of the characters, but the authors could definitely pull it off

Naomi (catfanatic) | 224 comments Mod
Pocahontas is beauty and the beast, which they did two of. The one more inclined towards Pocahontas is Spirited: A Retelling of "Beauty and the Beast".
What do you mean by 'changing the gender of the characters'?

message 31: by Sarah (new)

Sarah I meant switch it around so that the main character would be a girl instead of a guy, and the romantic interest would be a guy instead of a girl. And now I'm just sounding confusing. Sorry about that.

the original version had a prince and a girl peasant. Then they 'Disneyified' it and everyone thinks of the princess and peasant boy.

message 33: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Oh, okay. I'd never read the original, I'd only read the version in Arabian Nights and seen the Disney movie. Thanks. Now I know :)

xD ur welcome.

message 35: by Elley (new)

Elley Murray (elleyotter) I'd love to see a retelling of the toads and diamonds story in this series. =)

message 36: by Naomi (new)

Naomi (catfanatic) | 224 comments Mod
which ones?

message 37: by Elley (new)

Elley Murray (elleyotter) Any of them.

message 38: by Naomi (new)

Naomi (catfanatic) | 224 comments Mod
no, which ones have toads and di... oh! yeah! That would be really interesting.

message 39: by Elley (new)

Elley Murray (elleyotter) Hahaha, I think the original is actually called "The Fairies" by Charles Perrault- Toads and Diamonds is the one with two sisters (or a sister and step-sister, whichever) who each separately meet an old woman somewhere. One girl is sweet to the old woman, so she is rewarded by having diamonds fall from her mouth whenever she speaks. The other is rude, so she gets toads and snakes falling from her mouth when she speaks. Some books that illustrate this story are:
The Talking Eggs
Toads and Diamonds
The Fairy's Mistake
