I've hit a major reading slump, one probably years in the making, and haven't been posting much either. I shall try.

Can't believe September is almost here already!

September is here! Already beginning to get cold in the mornings! I'm not sure how many chapters you are reading. I may do one or two. However, I must confess that I've read to ch5 as I couldn't help myself and started a little early:)

So this is the weekend every year I travel to the middle of nowhere Kansas for a two-day golf tournament, so I’ll probably be starting pretty slowly, haha. Been driving all day today. Glad you got such a good start!

Haven't read anymore yet as with most holidays and school starting things have been pretty busy. I'll prob resume on Wednesday. Have a nice trip Terry!

Had a great time on the trip. Just got back this afternoon. I should be able to start on this tonight or tomorrow, and I’ll try to catch up. Hope your holiday weekend was a good one!

I’m up to the start of ch 3. I’m liking this start so far.

Yes. Me too. I read to ch6(view spoiler)[I'm really not sure what is going on. The only thing we know is that someone is stealing books. We know from the blurb that the town wants to sacrifice her. I'm curious to know why and why these other numbers are happening (hide spoiler)]

I read to ch7(view spoiler)[I'm not sure about supernatural....but probably in some way. I think the townspeople are up to no good. I feel like her late husband is a part of it too. From ch6 it sounds to me like a creature is stalking and killing people. Maybe a conjuring of some sort is out to kill Natalie. I'm thinking a cult. Just my initial thoughts. (hide spoiler)]

Yes. I also stopped at ch8 yesterday as well. I agree with you. Makes you wonder. I think the only person I trust other than Natalie is Marc. Everyone else seems really shady...lol

Read to ch9. It was a bit of a slog, but nothing new has really been developed.

Yeah, I read to the same spot, and I'm not sure that last chapter had any value, lol. Hoping for a little more excitement to wrap up these last several chapters.

Yes. Ch9 was better. Didn't quite understand what Mrs Bradford was trying to tell her about the ring? Falling into a grave and then once again being stalked by some creature.....somebody is definitely trying to mess with Natalie's head. I do believe there is some kind of cover-up going on. Case closed?....I don't believe it! Lol

I think (view spoiler)[ Mrs. Bradford didn't get to complete what she was going to say, so we didn't really learn anything other than learning about more people being part of whatever club that is going to turn out to be. I agree, something is being covered up, and I think Sam and maybe his wife know?? (hide spoiler)]

I finished. (view spoiler)[I'm not sure what I just read....lol. What an odd way to end the book. I guess they defeated Toal together and all is well in Oxrun? I'm guessing the next book has nothing to do with Marc and Natalie so it's just odd to me. Hmm. I'm not sure if I liked this book. It was great in the beginning, but then it fell short towards the middle and the climax was underwhelming. Still...I'm just left a little speechless. What happens to Oxrun now? Does it just disappear and show up randomly with another diabolical plan? Lol. I'm willing to continue if you are. Maybe there will be some clarity in the next one but that's a big maybe! So I’m definitely willing to give the next one a shot. I actually saw a posting somewhere just recently (May have been on Twitter) where someone was talking about their enjoyment of Charles Grants books, and thought that Sounds of Midnight was their favorite of his. That gives me some hope at least, lol.

I have the book ready also, so we could start right away? I have a couple of reads that start on Oct 1 also, but shouldn't be a big deal.
