1.8 (Mickslibrarian's task) Reading Jar Winner #1 Phillis Wheatley
On September 1, 1773 (250 years ago), Phillis Wheatley published her first book of poems. This was the first book published by a American black woman, ensuring Wheatley's place in literary history.
Pick one task below and read one book.
a. Read a book by an American black woman (does not have to have been born in the US). BONUS if it is the author's first published work.
b. Many of Wheatley's poems begin with "On" or "To". Read a book whose title begins with a preposition. BONUS if the preposition is either "ON" or "TO".
c. Wheatley was greatly influenced by the Bible and Greek Mythology. Read a book that has MPG: Religion or MPG: Greek Mythology.
1.9 (Tessa's task) Reading Jar Winner #2 AUTUMN / SPRING
In the northern hemisphere we will see the beginning of Autumn, while in the southern hemisphere they will be welcoming Spring.
Read a book by an author whose first and last initials are in AUTUMN SPRING. You may use both words (e.g. Timothy Schaffert). Letters may be used only so often as they appear in the two words. Middle initials, if used, can be ignored.

The International Criminal Police Organization, or INTERPOL, was founded on September 7, 1923.
