Oops! Sorry! Asleep at the book again.

I'm reading Don't Tell by Lindsay Lynch (which I can't find under "add book/author" even though I know it's in there someplace. This young author works as a book buyer for Ann Patchett's Parnassus Bookstore in Nashville, TN. Every single interview I've heard for Patchett's new book Tom Lake she's brought up this employee and her new book. I think they went to McLean & Eakins in Petoskey, MI together for a book signing.
It takes place in the Hollywood film community in the late 30s, earlier 40s. It's certainly keeping my interest.
I'm listening to When Women Invented Television The Untold Story of the Female Powerhouses Who Pioneered the Way We Watch Today by Jennifer Keishin Armstrong When Women Invented Television: The Untold Story of the Female Powerhouses Who Pioneered the Way We Watch Today. Having an electronic library at my fingertips is worse than a kid in the candy store!

Julie M (woolyjooly) | 314 comments Just finished 'Dying of Politeness' by Geena Davis. Quite interesting and the book just escaped being a tell-all bio..Of course there was a bit of humble bragging throughout but hey. She's Geena Davis, a REAL movie star! Hard to dispute her hard won successes in the male dominated movie industry. With style. (Aug book club pick)

Julie M (woolyjooly) | 314 comments Still trundling (is that a word?) along on Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver. I have the large print edition from the library, so only half way through the 890-pp doorstop! But WHAT a STORY. Cannot imagine how she developed the voice and language to write in young boy Demon's style. Incredible. Heartbreaking. Infuriating. And more to discover . .
