acorn | 5 comments hello! i have recently been annotating books for school which isn't fun but i want to try annotating personal reads, too. do you annotate books outside of school? if so, how do you make it enjoyable? please share tips :) thank you!!

rae (jurdan's version) I love annotating books outside of school! my tips would be
1) don't think to hard about it. Literally write whatever you want. My annotations are like a Wattpad comment section
2) Doodles!!
3) make sure you have a code for which tab color equals which emotion yk

1. do what YOU want! it doesn’t matter if it’s not “aesthetic” as long as you like it, it’s perfect
2. if you want to doodle, but don’t know what to doodle, use pinterest for inspo!!
3. i personally like to mostly annotate re-reads because i’ll know which tabs to use and etc + it makes it go by quicker (annotating takes me so long)
4. get some no-bleed/minimum bleed highlighters! my personal fav are midliners<3 you can use these to highlight your favorite passages plus you can use multiple colors and it always looks so cute!

Mariana (Jacki’s version) Just make it fun! I wish Goodreads allowed pictures so we could share our annotations. I doodle on my books and try to take notes of what i’m thinking/feeling as I read.
it’s definitely fun when you go back to it a few years later. Oh, I also always color match!
