This will be the last round of group read nominations for 2023. Typically December's group read is one of our second place finishers from the year.

In November of 1700, Charles II of Spain died creating a succession crisis that would lead to the Spanish Wars of Succession. Some historians have referred to these events as the "first world war of modern times" as multiple countries outside of Spain were involved.

With that historical tibit in mind, any books nominated for the November group read must be historical fiction that takes place in Spain. The book needs to take place 100% in Spain. Not a split setting. For this nomination round, nomination posts will just need to contain title and author. Books that are found to take place anywhere other than Spain will not be counted.

REMINDERS
NOMINATION POSTS MUST INCLUDE TITLE AND AUTHOR. A specific Spanish setting would be helpful but is not necessary this time. However, books that do not take place in Spain will not be counted.
NO SELF NOMINATIONS Members found self- nominating will have their post deleted and be removed from the group.
ALL MEMBERS GET ONE NOMINATION AND ONE SECOND Please make sure you are clearly marking nominations and seconds. Crowded threads get difficult for mods to track.
BOOKS IN A SERIES MUST BE READ IN ORDER If a book is 4th in a series, it cannot be nominated unless we have read books 1-3.
For all the nomination process details, see this thread - https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

We have read so, so, so many books. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE make sure you are consulting the "read" shelf before nominating a book - https://www.goodreads.com/group/books...

This has already been nominated. You can second the nomination and nominate a different book that fits the theme if you would like.
