Sam reluctantly attends a party as “wingman” for her sister Angela but meets Nick Cappuano and finds herself strongly attracted to him. Given what we learned about her up to this point, were you surprised or not that she left with him?

I was surprised and a little scared. A hookup doesn't seem like something Sam would do.

Even though I’d read this after starting the series, it still felt risky given what I know. It really felt out of character for Sam.

I was a little surprised. As a cop she knows the dangers of going off with a stranger. However Nick seemed honest and willing to allow Sam to call the shots. I did get a little nervous when he took her out of DC.

Again, you all nailed my first impressions; I did not expect that Sam would go that far the first night she met Nick. Of course, she surprised herself then, and again when she stayed over!

Agree with everyone. I thought it was risky that Sam would leave with a guy she just met.

It was definitely risky. She also showed him her gun and all I could think of was his size and him physically overpowering her and taking her weapon. Not smart!
