Elyse (winesaboutbooks) | 565 comments Starting the month with Take It Back by Kia Abdullah and will hopefully be starting Holly (Holly Gibney, #3) by Stephen King soon!

EDIT: Looks like I won't be reading Holly until towards the end of the month. It's a buddy read and my buddy can't start it until the 22nd! Time to choose another King for Kingtober!

No way! It can't be possible that you have an extensive TBR. lol
I know you will enjoy every one. I WISH I could read as much as you do. :)

By the way, check your email. I hit a snag with last readathon's charity donation.

Bummer! It will be a while before I read it, but hoping Mom will get it for me for my birthday. :)
I'm going to get it for her for Christmas.

Let me know which one you end up reading.

Elyse (winesaboutbooks) | 565 comments I finished Take It Back by Kia Abdullah yesterday. Heavyyyy book. I started reading/listening to Mystic River by Dennis Lehane and reading Full Throttle by Joe Hill today. I'm hoping to pick up Billy Summers by Stephen King Wizard and Glass (The Dark Tower, #4) by Stephen King by the weekend! I'm waiting for my new (to me) copy of Wizard and Glass to be delivered. We had our dog's grandfather visit for a few months last year and he took umbrage with Mr. King and peed on some of his books that I had on my library floor for Instagram photos. 😫 And I just discovered on Sunday that Wizard and Glass was also one of them so in the trash it went and I bought a used copy on Pango Books for $6 (including shipping).

Oh man...that sucks!
I'm only on Book 3 of The Dark Tower series. So many books, so little time!

Elyse (winesaboutbooks) | 565 comments I finished Mystic River by Dennis Lehane on Friday and Full Throttle by Joe Hill last night. I'm hoping to start Wizard and Glass (The Dark Tower, #4) by Stephen King today.

message 15: by Elyse (new)

Elyse (winesaboutbooks) | 565 comments I haven't started Wizard and Glass (The Dark Tower, #4) by Stephen King yet because I've got a non-scary book to finish before tomorrow. But I did listen to Such Sharp Teeth by Rachel Harrison Sunday to Monday as it was also due back tomorrow.

How did you like The Burning Girls?
The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is one of my favorites. I visited Sleepy Hollow in 2021. We took a short detour there on our way to Salem, MA, and we also visited the Lizzie Borden house in Fall River. It was a fun trip.

Anyone participating in Dewey's 24 Hour Readathon on Saturday? I'm hoping to get a lot of reading in. I haven't read half the scary I wanted to this month.

Yes of course! I haven't missed one since I started participating in 2017! 😎 Though in the future they will definitely be much lower key since I will have my little one in January. But you bet I'm going to make sure hubby knows that Dewey's are sacred me-time! I mean, he already knows this. lol

Elyse (winesaboutbooks) | 565 comments Since mid-event check-in, I've read Breakup from Hell by Ann Dávila Cardinal The Nightmare Man by J.H. Markert Cycle of the Werewolf by Stephen King Sleeping Beauties, Vol. 1 by Rio Youers Sleeping Beauties, Vol. 2 (Graphic Novel) by Stephen King
And I'm currently reading Wizard and Glass (The Dark Tower, #4) by Stephen King The Green Mile by Stephen King Holly by Stephen King

Yes, not all King books are strictly horror but I don't feel like figuring out whether they fit or not. There's almost always horrific elements to them.

Elyse (winesaboutbooks) | 565 comments I finished The Green Mile by Stephen King Holly by Stephen King . Haven't touched Wizard and Glass (The Dark Tower, #4) by Stephen King . But I started Malice House (Malice Compendium, #1) by Megan Shepherd today!
