I've finished the prologue:

I'll be starting this one as soon as I finally got done with Babel :)

I'm up to page 47, but it's a difficult story to follow. I hope (view spoiler)[the dog recovers, though. (hide spoiler)]

I very much doubt I am going to be able to fit this one in this month. Will see how I get on!

Started now :)

I'm 8% in, at the point before Monday starts.

(view spoiler)[I must say, I am highly confused about pretty much everything still. I'm listening to the audiobook and it is good so far, the narrator does a good job. Story-wise I definitely need more though to be able to say literally anything. (hide spoiler)]

I'm listening to the audiobook while I'm working so I might miss a few things, especially when a new day starts in the book but I'm trying my best to get it all in order.

Monday

Tuesday
(view spoiler)[I found it a very powerful message when he said that since Peta doesn't want kids, it feels like his ancestors went through so much for nothing. Of course, everyone can decide for themselves if they want kids or not and I respect everyone's choice regarding that topic but I do understand this thought.
The thought of the elk hide in the microwave was really gross. (hide spoiler)]

Wednesday
(view spoiler)[What exactly is Shaney's deal? She's weird in my opinion.
I just now understood that they mean Indians in the sense of Indigenous people and not people from India. That confused me SO MUCH (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[I'm slightly confused by them saying "innit". Isn't that a British thing? Maybe I'm a little lost. Maybe I need to send my degree back to my uni lol
I find especially this flashback scene to be written so well, I really like the style.

(view spoiler)[The cops were there, asking about the dog. Don't know how to feel about that.
The Elk head woman thing is so weird. He really has some problems. I guess he just feels so guilty of what happened in the past and now it is haunting him. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[Does Lewis actually think that his WIFE was being rebirthed and she was the elk they killed in the past? Come on.
It is an interesting thought that the last of the Elders died and now that is because the haunting started. (hide spoiler)]

I already finished two days ago but work is so hectic right now, I will probably post the rest of my thoughts tomorrow :)

I'm not going to read the spoilers yet, as I struggled a long time with the book. Now I'm at page 100 and finally the struggle is fading.

I already tried multiple times to give my final thoughts but every time life came in the way. Will very hopefully do so today!

He is sooooo obsessed with finding a woman that somehow was the elk in her past life which doesn’t even make sense because it’s a grown woman. And then Peta dies too? Did not expect that at all
Extracting the teeth was so so gross!
And what is even happening? He cuts Peta open and there's a hoof coming out of her? This is so crazy. What's wrong with him?
I doubt there was an elk in her. Was it a baby? Or is he so delulu that he is cuddling with her intestines or something? (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[I don't understand what is happening at all. He raises a child making her believe she's an elk? Or what is going on?
I'm very confused by the time jump (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[I am confused about this kind of new story, I feel like I didn't quite understand the transition from Lewis' story to the other guys.
The new chapters have other titles unlike the first ones that had days of the week as title. I can't really keep track of the chapter names with the audiobook. So will put everything under this part.
Shaney is alive? Everything confuses me.
The whole sweat lodge situation, I am more than confused
I do understand that the others are basically dying too now but it’s still confusing me, feels like I’m on some shroom trip.

Overall thoughts
(view spoiler)[The whole story, especially after this time jump confused me a lot but it also creeped me out which it was supposed to do and I think it was very well written so I'm giving it 4 stars. (hide spoiler)]

I never did get to this one. Perhaps one day!

I'm not sure I can recommend it, even though I enjoyed it. It sure was a ride!

At the moment I am trying really hard not to spend anymore money but if it comes on Kindle Unlimited I will definitely snap it up.
