It shows that it's not easy for people who look different to fit in, and it's also not always easy for others to feel comfortable around them. But the message that both sides can get past the initial discomfort if they genuinely want to is something I love, and I want my child to understand it too.

The novel also talks about fitting into a community, true friendship, loyalty, and love. I enjoyed every part of it.

Apple I love this book. I bought it for myself, but gave it to my daughter to read first, she was maybe 10 at the time, and then she was running around telling everyone they had to read it.

I loved that it showed so many perspectives. It is hard for all family members when there is one who has a special condition, and I think they showed this realistically, and with love, throughout, (think it specifically of the sister here, who missed out on a lot of attention but doesn’t hold a grudge even though it does hurt).
