The book was too long for my taste. After checking reviews, I was surprised to find many called it fast-paced when, for me, it felt slow. Reflecting on it, I understand it's action-packed, but that didn't engage me. Following a group of quirky 40+ men wasn't my thing. The author went into great detail about their whereabouts and actions, almost like a movie script, which I found a bit too much.
The one bright spot was Raleigh's changing views during the trip, particularly his realization about valuing appearances over family.
