As we near the end of our 2023 Read of The Way We Live Now, I’m opening this topic for the discussion of the 2001 PBS production directed by David Yates. Please expect spoilers.

The production includes some notable actors in key roles:
David Suchet as Augustus Melmotte
Shirley Henderson as Marie Melmotte
Matthew Macfadyen as Felix Carbury
Cheryl Campbell as Lady Carbury
Douglas Hodge as Roger Carbury
Cillian Murphy as Paul Montague
Miranda Otto as Mrs. Hurtle

Just to name a few.

The book was adapted by Andrew Davies, the same author who did it for Pride and Prejudice (1995) and Wives and Daughters (1999).

Both these adaptations still have their fans. I think that TWWLN is less celebrated may have to do with Trollope's novel itself: it is not a romantic story.
