Shannon A | 6 comments I'm loving this book so much it's crazy. This second part definitely has a different feel than the first, but that's not a bad thing. We get to see a little more of things going on outside of the academy and meet some interesting characters.
I also enjoy how the author weaves through different character perspectives, even from one paragraph to next. I admire how she does that because I feel that is very difficult to pull off. Even if it's just a small glimpse from their eyes, all the characters feel unique with their own ways of thinking and expressing.
Also the end of the first part--heartbreaking! Seriously, but I'm glad we still get to see important characters and what they are all up to despite any separations. All in all, really amazing so far and super anxious to continue!

Sarah (sarahs_chapter) | 5 comments Really enjoying part two so far! I find it a little jarring when at the start of a chapter it says 'two years passed' and I'm like whaaaat that's such a jump ahead! But I suppose the book would be rather slow if it described every single day that passed.

Really enjoying Inda's character progression and meeting new characters as well as following old ones :)

Paul (paul_sff) | 7 comments I liked that the 2 years of ship training was summed up at the dinner between Dun and Sinud(can't remember the correct spelling).

My only complain so far is that I am aware of the writer telling us the story instead of the characters telling us their story. Not sure if that makes sense or not. At all times, I am too aware of the story being told to us by the author, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I wouldn't mind a tighter perspective from Inda.
