Sam finds a photo of a high school age boy in John’s cabin who looks like him but it’s from four years earlier. She questions whether it could be his son but Nick is adamant that he would know. What did you think at the time?

That the kid was the Senator's son and Nick didn't know the John as well as he thought he did.

I had a hard time thinking the dating could be just four years earlier; rather, that might have been taken of the senator himself as a kid, so this was my choice, too.

At first I bought his parent’s explanation because I thought Nick would know. But combined with the info about Donaldson? I quickly latched onto this being his son.

Nick definitely did not know John as well as he thought, and I was not buying the O'Conner's lame explanation about a cousin who looked like him.

I guessed right away that the kid in the picture was John's son. We knew he was sending money to a friend each month. What other reason could there be.

I'm with Robin. I guessed immediately that John was his father. Nick didn't know his best friend as much as he thought. John didn't share his kink or his son.
