Sam spends the night at Nick’s house and as she attempts to leave the next morning, her car blows up, almost killing her. A bomb was later found in Nick’s car, too. Did you think it was related to John’s murder, her last case involving the death of Quentin Johnson or something else?

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments I did think it was related to John's murder. I couldn't see any other reason for it. Why put a bomb in Nick's car if it was related to the Johnson case?

This sent me into a tailspin because I couldn’t figure out a motive from the murder case where Nick would need to be taken out, too. Nice twist.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments I agree, Jonetta. I really didn't see a reason why the killer would go after Nick. I just figured it was something that hadn't be reveled yet.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1803 comments Again, this was a re-read so I knew who the culprit was. I think I also suspected Peter during my first read through as he was the only one who would target both Nick and Sam.

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments I remembered that Peter had planted the explosive devices in both vehicles from my previous reading of this book. When I read it the first time, I thought the bombing had something to do with the Senator's case since the bombs were in both of their cars.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments I thought it had something to do with John's murder. If it was her previous case, I don't think they would put a bomb in Nick's car. However, after I thought about it for a time, I thought it was Peter.

I didn't remember this from my first read.
