It’s discovered that Peter Gibson, Sam’s ex-husband, was the person stalking her and Nick, also placing the bombs on their cars. Sam was allowed to handle the interview, despite being the victim and having a relationship with the suspect. Would/could this happen in real life? How did she do?

This would not have happened in real life. That's why we call it fiction. Sam did great in the interview.

Though it was highly unrealistic, I loved the interview😏 No way would any attorney allow this to happen. But it was a popcorn moment.

I agree. As much as I loved the interview, it isn't realistic. Sam would be in observation.
