When Olivia’s father is arrested and charged with running a Ponzi scheme among other things, Olivia receives death threats while her mother continues believing it’s a misunderstanding. Why does she continue to blame Olivia instead of her scumbag husband? What does she want Olivia to do? Natalie’s husband has also been arrested, and she tries to force Olivia to sign over her trust fund so they can borrow off it for an attorney. Olivia refuses and Natalie tells her she “owes us”. Why do they continue believing Olivia owes them? Did you approve of the way Olivia handled it?

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments Olivia's mother has been living in La-La land for so long she has lost touch with reality. Whatever Robert told her she believes with all her being. They all blame Olivia for being a disruption to their "perfect" family. Olivia handled them all perfectly.

Jessica | 156 comments I was also wondering why they believed Olivia owed them. It doesn't seem like her illness should really have affected them all that much given that they sent her away and didn't even visit.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments Olivia stands on her own. She never expected nor received anything from her immediate family. Her mother and Natalie believe that Olivia's actions are a type of revenge for not being in the inner circle. They never got that Olivia didn't want the fortune. She only wanted love.
