Lisa (tenaciousreader) | 301 comments It's that time to select our April BotM.

Same rules as always apply:

1) Each person is allowed ONE vote, either a nomination OR a "second"

2) Once a book is "seconded", it is added to the poll list

3) Once five books are on the poll list, this thread closes and voting begins

4) No self promotion allowed - if outside vote stacking or promotion is discovered, a book will be DQ'd automatically.

We had good discussions for March, look forward to seeing what is voted in for April.

Lisa (tenaciousreader) | 301 comments I am going to nominate Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel. It's more Science Fiction/Dystopian, but wanted to nominate it any way incase there is interest.

Ant | 2 comments I'd like to nominate Perdido Street Station by China Miéville

Jorge (jorgeasr) What's the policy on books ready by the group? I just found out about Blood Song and I'd like to nominate it, but the group read it a while ago.

message 11: by Diane (new)

Diane | 3 comments Touch by Claire North Touch is something I'm really interested in. This is a pseudonym for Catherine Webb, AKA Kate Griffin. The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August was really good, and word is that this one is better.

message 12: by Connor (new)

Connor McCarty Malice seconded

message 13: by Kevin (new)

Kevin Xu (kxu65) | 5 comments I'll nominate Inda by Sherwood Smith, a very underrated book and author.

message 14: by Kavya (new)

Kavya | 8 comments I'd like to nominate To Ride's Hell Chasm by Janny Wurts

message 16: by Alissa (new)

Alissa | 37 comments I'd like to second To Ride Hell’s Chasm by Janny Wurts.

message 17: by Tom (new)

Tom Wright | 33 comments The Rook! (By Daniel O'Malley)

My fellow book-readers, I come to you, hat in hand. We can do ourselves the favor of reading The Rook this month. We can do it together.

You want to vote for The Rook.

You need to vote for The Rook.

Vote for The Rook.

message 18: by Harv (new)

Harv | 10 comments Enjoyed the hell out of Harry August, I'll second Touch.

message 19: by Jorge (new)

Jorge (jorgeasr) Given that the group probably doesn't allow for rereads, I'll use my vote to second The Rook.

message 20: by Monica (new)

Monica | 6 comments I'll second Station Eleven! I've heard it's a really amazing book, and I can't wait to read it.

Lisa (tenaciousreader) | 301 comments Seconded so far:

Unwrapped Sky
Malice
Bridge of Birds

Looks like we have our 5, well 6 actually. I'll go ahead and add them this time.

Sorry, once we've read a book we don't plan on selecting it again. If you do read it, please feel free to read and reply to the discussions, we never close them off and always welcome new thoughts on it.
