Barbara | 347 comments I know there is the big BSI weekend in NYC (I can never get - or afford - to go) but are there any interesting ones in your area? Because I am in NJ (Irene Adler territory!) and the town at the very bottom of the state, Cape May, has an annual - or 2x annual - Sherlock Holmes Weekend. I don't know much about it, it's always a time I can't get away, but the town has some gorgeous big Victorian homes, a lot of them B&Bs with authentic furnishings, so its probably a good setting.
One of these days....

I am not aware of any Sherlock Holmes societies, groups or clubs in New Zealand which leaves me on a limb.

J. Rubino (jrubino) | 306 comments This is running at a small theatre not far from me - the first I'd heard about it was this morning, so I don't know if I can make the show. I've been to this venue for other programs, which were all quite gook.

THE NIGHT SIDE

November 2, 8 and 9 @ 7:00pm
Sunday November 3rd @ 2:00pm

A psychological thriller, Sherlock Holmes, unnerved and tormented by his own terrifying ordeal, obsesses over the mysterious death of Edgar Allan Poe. His chilling encounter with the Ghost of Poe, uncovers a horror as shocking as any of Poe's Tales of Terror. The Night Side is an emotional and riveting ghost story where the dark, disturbed imagination of Edgar Allan Poe reveals an even darker truth

Darlene Cypser | 8 comments Odd plot. Edgar Allen Poe died before Sherlock Holmes was born.

Barbara | 347 comments Yeah it's a weird mashup, but since it says it's Poe's ghost in the description maybe the two don't actually meet "in the flesh". But nice to see small theaters doing anything to do with Holmes.
